Time For A Redo

Do you shop on Craigslist?

I rarely buy things off Craigslist even though I look frequently. But I made a purchase yesterday.

I found this awesome Quilt Rack for $20!! Have you ever seen a Quilt Rack with a bottom drawer!? It's my favorite part.

But I should probably add in $10 for gas since what should have been a 20 minute trip turned into an hour because of 1 wrong turn. But it's all good.

Now I just need to decide how to refinish it and make it fresh and new!!

I won't be able to work on it for at least 2 weeks though. Even though it's been calling my name today. I am sewing and workin hard to finish a project. And next weekend, I will be traveling. But after that.. I'm goin to tackle this makeover! And hopefully by then I will have a plan!

**update** I rec'd an email from a reader, Jan, who let me know this is actually a saddle rack. It totally makes sense! The drawers are for combs and brushes. And the horseshoe handles on the end are for holding the bridle. I love it even more now. Thank you Jan!!

Cool find! I don't shop off Craigslist, but I am a member of Freecycle. I've gotten rid of tons of things, but I also have picked up a ton of things, including a full suite of antique girl's furniture that's taking up half my garage waiting to be refinished. I love Freecycle!

Oh,,, very nice indeed. I'm with you, love the idea of the drawer on the bottom. I'm thinking antique linens may have been 'housed' there at one time......

Oh that's a fun one - I've never seen a rack like that before. Very clever! My craigslist find this week was a quilting frame and machine!!!!!! I just picked it up yesterday - this is my first frame EVER!!!! Once I can get it set up - I will be golden!!!! :-)

What a fabulous find Heidi..
I agree the draws are gorgeous...
I think it just needs a gentle sanding and then a matt finish put on it..
Hope you finish your project and safe travels.

Oh my, yes! I buy AND sell on craigslist, all the time! We had 36 different craigslist buyers to our house when we gradually sold everything before we moved. Every person, without exception, was nice and easy to deal with. I'm the same with others when I sell things, and on one occasion, made a new friend! Yes, you do have to be cautious, but if you use common sense, you'll be fine. So glad you had a positive first experience.

P.S.--What fabric shops have you found in the Duluth/ Superior area? DH and I are taking a mini vacation..my goal is to stop at fabric shops as he stops at sporting good stores. Do you have favorites?
One stop will be Kelly J's.
